Why UV Air Purifiers Matter in Florida
Florida's subtropical climate creates ideal conditions for microbial growth inside HVAC systems. - Coil-mounted UV lamps — positioned to shine directly on the evaporator coil 24/7. Prevents mold colonization on the coil surface. This is the most common and cost-effective UV upgrade for Florida homes.
- In-duct air purifiers (ionization systems) — devices like the iWave or REME HALO that treat air as it passes through the duct, using ions and/or UV light to neutralize pathogens and VOCs throughout the air stream. Treats the whole home, not just the coil surface.
